Situated along the southern shore of Lake Erie, this is the most heavily populated county in the state, with most of these people residing in Cleveland and the surrounding metropolitan area. The county is bisected by the Cuyahoga River, and between this major waterway, lakes, and other water features, over 60 percent of the county is water.
