They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Harris County is no exception. With Houston as the county seat, this is one of the biggest and busiest places in the United States. Over four million people call Harris County home, and the county is ranked as the third largest in terms of population. However, whether you live in Harris County permanently or are just visiting, you'll find that there is plenty to see and do. Probably one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of this area is Space Center Houston. This is located in the Clear Lake area and offers tours and other visitor programs, including opportunities to meet astronauts. In addition to the Space Center, many people in Harris County enjoy visiting the Houston Museum of Natural Science where they can browse exciting exhibits or take in an IMAX movie. The Museum of Fine Arts is where you can "get your culture on" and take in pieces ranging from Renaissance to post-Impressionism.

For folks that want to get outdoors, Hermann Park is a major attraction that features a zoo, a golf course, a relaxing Japanese garden, and an outdoor theater. It also has standard park features, such as playground equipment and walking/biking trails. Buffalo Bayou Park is another huge draw in Harris County that encompasses 124 acres and features hiking trails, a disc golf course, a children's playground, and a fantastic view of the Houston skyline. Harris County is certainly not lacking in outdoor activities, but no matter what you're into, you'll find something in this part of Texas.
