Milwaukee County, Wisconsin is more than just the home of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and many of the United States best breweries, but it is easy to understand why these are among Milwaukee County's most notable landmarks. Being the home of Harley Davidson Motorcycles, visitors who want to ride a Harley or learn more about its history can visit the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the House of Harley-Davidson clothes and collectibles, or the Harley-Davidson Museum. The Museum of Beer and Brewing showcases the history of the beer and brewing industry. The Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion, of Pabst Brewing, is on the National Register of Historic Homes. Visitors who want a more hands-on experience of the "beer capital of the world" can taste and tour the over 150 breweries in Milwaukee County including the historic Pabst Brewery and Tavern, Lakefront Brewing, and Budweiser. Milwaukee County is also home to some of the United States' most historic and architecturally beautiful cathedrals including the Basilica of St. Josaphat, designed after St. Peter's in Rome.

Milwaukee County is known as the place where the water meets the land. Many activities take place along Milwaukee's beautiful shoreline and Pier Wisconsin from Lake Michigan. Visitors can enjoy the Public Park, aquarium, and dock at Discovery World. The S/V Denis Sullivan Tall Ship at Discovery World is a re-creation of a 19th Century Great Lakes schooner. Some boats, like Milwaukee's popular Edelweiss and Quinn Marie, host dinner, cocktail, and sunset cruises. The word Milwaukee means "gathering place by the water" and Milwaukee is home to the Indian Summer, the largest Native American festival in the United States. Another meaning for Milwaukee is "a good and pleasant land," which visitors can agree fits the county well.
